Life Isn’t Always Pre-Planned (But Some of It Is)

One of the most common questions I receive as a medium is this:

“Is our life already planned out?”

The answer is both yes and no.

Spirit sees what is beyond the road ahead, and guides you through it.
Spirit sees what is beyond the road ahead, and guides you through it.

Before we come to Earth, our soul creates a life plan. Think of it less like a strict script and more like a map with certain markers along the way. These markers are important moments that help shape our growth, relationships, and understanding while we are here.

Some of these moments are planned because they help our soul learn something essential. They may involve meeting certain people, experiencing certain challenges, or stepping into opportunities that help us grow.

But at the same time, we are given something incredibly powerful:

Free will.

Free will means that while certain markers exist in the life plan, we still make choices every day that influence how we reach those points. Sometimes we move toward them easily. Other times we take a longer path to get there.

Our spirit guides help us along the way. They are constantly working behind the scenes to help guide us toward the experiences our soul intended. Sometimes they nudge us gently through intuition. Other times they work much harder to get our attention.

I experienced a powerful example of this with my daughter.

One day we were cleaning out a storage area together when both of us suddenly received the same message from Spirit. It came through as a sudden knowing that a friend of ours might be about to have a serious car accident — possibly even one that could end his life.

We both stopped what we were doing and looked at each other.

Almost at the same time we said something about it, realizing we had received the exact same intuitive impression.

It was unusual, but we discussed it for a moment and then continued cleaning. At the time we weren’t sure what to do with the information.

About twenty minutes later we found out that our friend had just been in a car accident five minutes earlier after hitting a deer.

Thankfully, he was completely safe.

What made the experience so interesting was the timing. Spirit had shown us the possibility of the accident before it even happened in our physical timeline.

Moments like this remind me that life isn’t always unfolding in a straight line the way we experience it here on Earth.

From the perspective of Spirit, there are often multiple possible outcomes or exit points in a life plan. Some events may be possibilities rather than guarantees.

Our choices, timing, and circumstances all interact with the plan.

Think of it like a road with several intersections. Some roads may lead to the same destination, but how you travel there can change.

What stays consistent are the important markers that help the soul grow.

And sometimes, things happen according to what I often call God’s timing.

Even when we don’t understand why something occurs when it does, there is often a larger perspective at work — one that our guides can see much more clearly than we can from our human point of view.

The more we learn to trust our intuition, the easier it becomes to recognize when those moments are unfolding.

You may not always see the entire map of your life, but you are never walking the path alone.

Your guides are always working quietly in the background, helping you move toward the experiences your soul came here to have.

And sometimes, if you’re paying attention, they even let you see a glimpse of the plan ahead of time.
